The following rules are to be strictly enforced. Exhibitors, please read them carefully.
The Exhibit Building is open on Thursday evening fro 7:00pm - 8:30pm and on Friday morning from 9:00 am - 11:00am for entries to be brought in. Judging is at NOON Friday in the Exhibit Building. The building is closed during the judging.
No exhibits shall be taken down from display nor shall they be removed from the building or grounds until after 3:30pm Sunday . Doing so will result in disqualification of the exhibits and forfeiture of the prize money. Strictly enforced.
Entry tags can be picked up at: Kelly's Flowers and Gifts, Johnston's Pharmacy and Home Hardware. Exhibitors with more than 10 items may phone Jennifer Reid prior to the fair to obtain an exhibitor number, 613-827-5279.
All exhibitors winning prize money must make out a list of winnings and give it to the Secretary at Home craft Sunday at 3:30pm to collect prize money.
Fee for associate membership - $10 which is required for exhibiting.
No animal or article to compete for more than one prize, except specials, calendar year calves and herds.
Any persons interfering with they judges while in the discharge of their duties will forfeit prizes.
Any person exhibiting roots, vegetables, fruits, domestic manufacturer's and ladies' work must be the bonafide grower or maker.
No bulls may be judged or allowed on the grounds unless chained or otherwise fastened. All senior ages date from the first of July, year preceding the fair.
Membership will be allowed to exhibit as many animals or articles as they wish in accordance with rules 6 and 10.
No person will be allowed to enter for exhibition more than one specimen in a section. This rule does not apply to animals.
No sacks, bags or items for exhibit will be admitted with marks, names or initials on them, whereby the owner may be known.
While the committee will take every precaution to secure the safety of animals and articles, be they injured or stolen, and the directors will give assistance in their power for the recovery of same, no payment will be made for the value thereof.
All protests are to be made to the secretary within two days with a fee of $25, said fee to be forfeited to the society if the protest is not sustained.
In absence of competition in any class, or if the stock or articles exhibited are of inferior quality, the judges are instructed to award only such premium they think the article deserves. They will exercise their discretion as to whether they will award first, second, third or any premium.
Exhibitors will be required to bring forward their stock when called for by the judges as no animal will be judged unless so brought forward. Exhibitors of all purebred registered stock must produce registration papers when demanded by the judges or directors of the department.
Any person attempted to impose upon the judges by giving certificates or stock of the articles that are not strictly correct shall be disqualified from receiving any premiums.
If there are not enough funds on hand to pay prizes in full they will be paid pro rata.
Positively no persons other than the handlers and the judges will be allowed on the track while horses are exhibiting.
Prizes will be mailed within two months after the date of the fair.
An exhibitor must absent themselves from building during judging.
Exhibitors of animals must have liability insurance for same.
Horse/Pony pulls - all teamsters must show proof of $2M insurance coverage.
As a result of inclement weather, or any other occurrence that may be considered a risk to public safety, Madoc Agricultural Society may cancel any event without prior notice.
