Class 63 - 66

Rules and Regulations:

All exhibits must be work of the exhibitor and no one else, unless otherwise stated.
Judges are instructed to award prizes to new and updated work
All paintings and wall hanging must be framed and wired, read to hang or they will be refused
Articles may not be removed by the exhibitor, but must be removed by a committee member or other authorized person.
Only one article per category, per exhibitor, will be allowed in each section
All art entries must be titled
No personal labels shown on articles
Sunday doors close at 3:00 pm pick up at 3:30 pm.

Hand Quilted Championship Quilt Competition

Competition begins at the lcoal fair and continues through District 3 Competitions, where the prizes are $25, $15, and $10. The first place winning hand - quilted quilts at district Quiliting Competition at the annual convention in Toronto. The entry judged Best of Show at the February Convention will be declared the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Championship Quilt. A $500.00 Grand Prize and a $100 Reserve Grand Prize will be awarded and the exhibitors will retain ownership of the quilts. A certificate and ribbon will also be awarded to the winner.

Hand - Quilted and Machine - Quilted Quilts

General Appearance and Design - $25

Colour and Material - $20

Workmanship - Quilting - $30, Borders - $10, Binding and Picots - $15

Entry must have been judged the Grand Champion Quilt of all classes at the local fair. If any entry wins Grand Champion at more than one fair, the other fairs at which this quilt was entered and won, should enter their Reserve Champion Quilt in the District 3 Competition.
Note: If an exhibitor wins Grand Champion at other than his/her own Fair, or more than one fair, the exhibitor must consider the Agricultural Society nearest his/her home address as the one from which the quilt will be sent to the district meeting
Entry must be a minimum of 324" measured on the perimeter (smaller quilts will not be eligible to proceed to next level of competition).
Entry must be solely made and hand quilted by a group or individual who is a member of the Madoc Agricultural Society. (Payment of $10.00 associate membership fee)
Upon making an entry into the O.A.A.S Quilting Competition, the exhibitor agrees to participate in any promotional activities related to the competition.
The winning OAAS Champion Quilt will not be eligible to compete in any future district and or convention OAAS.

Machine Quilted Quilt Competition - The above rules and prizes apply to this competition also.
