All exhibits in this class must be in place between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on
Thursday, September 12th or Friday September 13th by Noon in the Homecraft
Building ready for judging. The producer’s name must not appear on exhibits until
after judging. No Commercial Advertising on containers. Exhibits in sections 1, 2, 3
and 4 shall consist of one 375ml clear unmarked glass jar.
Honey will be judged using the standards printed in the OAAS Agriculture & Horticulture Judging Standards for Ontario Fairs:
Clarity - 45 points
15 - Density and moisture content
10 - Brightness
10 - Flavour and aroma
5 - Uniformity of honey
5 - Colour
Clarity - 45 points
15 - Free from crystals
15 - Free form pollen, wax, etc.
15 - Free from air bubbles either in suspension or as froth
Containers - 10 points
5 - Pleasant appearance, of equal size and shape
5 - Uniform level of fill
